One of the signs of Spring in the Erie area is the reopening of Sara's, the popular restaurant near the entrance of Presque Isle State Park.
The staff at Sara's has been busy getting the place ready to open today, April 1 at 11 a.m.
The popular restaurant will be grilling up burgers, hotdog and fries along with ice cream and other treats.
As for what's new on the menu this season, owner Sean Candela tells Erie News Now it's a surprise and you will have to head down to the restaurant to see.
"Supply chain is difficult," says Candela. "We have been trying to work on it for a couple months. We're always hiring new people, labors a challenge but, we are okay and are looking forward to a great Summer. There will be a price increase partly because of supply chain, partly because of labor but, we are trying to keep it as reasonable as we can."
Sara's closes each fall for the Winter and reopens in the Spring each year on April first.
Candela explains after two years of overcoming obstacles they are happy to be opening today and welcome all their smiling customers back for the season.
"Hopefully its going to go back to looking like it did a few years ago," says Candela. "We are still going to feature drive thru but, we will have people coming in, sitting outside at the picnic tables, so we are looking forward to the way it's use to be."
Sara's hours this Spring will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
