Erie County Executive Brenton Davis participated in a White House summit on Wednesday.

Davis hopes to put Erie County on the map and receive additional federal funding for the county.

The invitation-only summit focused on the implementation of American Rescue Plan funds.

It featured state and local leaders across the country who highlighted the best strategies to use federal funding to invest in efforts to expand the workforce.

Davis said he wants ensure equitable investment in the workforce, a segment he says has been disproportionality left behind.

"It's no secret Erie County has often received the short end of the stick in state funding but also federal funding," said Davis. "We aim to leverage the full powers and authorities of the County Executive's Office like never before to garner a greater investment here for members of our community."

The summit was a two-hour long discussion with the White House, which was headlined by Vice President Kamala Harris.
