The Erie man who was on the run for more than two weeks after gunning down several people at an Erie bar will serve 45 to 90 years in prison, according to court records.
Judge Daniel Brabender handed down the sentence for Danny Nicholson, 39, of Erie, during a hearing Aug. 18.
Nicholson pleaded guilty in July to two counts of third-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault in the case.
He killed two people and injured three others when he barged into Bogey's Tavern on Buffalo Rd. and opened fire March 3, 2021, according to police.
U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Erie Police, and Lawrence Park Police found Nicholson hiding out at a motel on E. Lake Rd.in Lawrence Park and arrested him a few weeks later.
Nicholson was also sentenced to 3½ to 7 years for firing a gun into an occupied structure in another case, but it will not add any additional time to his sentence.
