It was a day of camaraderie Friday among law enforcement as the Pennsylvania State Police Swanson Memorial Lodge hosts events for active and retired members.
It was the 40th annual Beef Roast Friday night at the Lawrence Park Golf Course picnic pavilion.
Dozens of active and retired law enforcement members, along with court officials and other first responders attended.
They stepped it up from roast beef, to 12-ounce steaks and fixings, but as retired State Trooper John Ochs explains, it's about more than the good grub, “Camaraderie. The guys don't get to see one another very often, and this is a great conduit to make that happen. We all worked together for many years, some times were good, some times we're not so good. And we got a thousand stories to tell, and the guys get together like this and we all tell the same stories over and over again, but you know they're all new every time we tell them.”
Before Friday night’s event, the FOP Lodge also hosted a luncheon with uniformed PSP Troopers and members of the Ohio Highway Patrol and the New York State Police too.
