Despite leaving Cincinnati with a win Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers did not leave without consequence. TJ Watt and Najee Harris were among those injured during the game.

After initial fears of a torn pectoral muscle surfaced Sunday, head coach Mike Tomlin said at his weekly press conference Tuesday that Watt will not play this Sunday against New England, but did not rule out a return to the field for the reigning defensive player of the year.

"We're encouraged and we'll just continue to look at the situation and gain opinions and do what's appropriate," Tomlin said.

TJ Watt just a few hours later sent out a tweet indicating his season may not be over.

Tomlin added Najee Harris is optimistic about a return in Week 2.

"He is going to have to practice and prove his readiness," said Tomlin

Tomlin said they will take Harris' situation by day-day.

The Steelers opened their home schedule by hosting the New England Patriots at 1 p.m. on WSEE.
