In preparation for the 38th Annual Festival of Trees, volunteers decked the halls of the Bayfront Convention Center.

To help the transformation, people from the community came together to bring holiday cheer.

"This weekend AHN ST. Vincent will welcome the community to the 38th annual festival of trees, so right now we have over 100 volunteers decorating and making the Bayfront Convention Center come alive," Christine Bowen said.

For those helping set up for the event, anticipation for the weekend and for all the festivities is started to settle in.

"We can't wait to see all the decorations and the way everything looks when they've completed their tasks."  Christine Bowen

The festival will have a gallery of trees that are decorated by community members and local artists.

One decorator, Julie Shotts, planned for this event for months and shared her favorite part of it.

"It's been a long process, we've actually started back in September, and just watching the process and just the teamwork we have going on," Julie Shotts said.

Attendees can vote for their favorite tree and the winner is announced on the 28th of November.

The proceeds from the event benefit the ANH Saint Vincent's Children's Miracle Network and cardiac services.

The Festival of Trees kicks off Friday at 9 a.m. at the Bayfront Convention Center. and continues until Sunday.

Erie News Now is a proud sponsor of the event.
