Police are holding an east Erie home as a crime scene after the overnight shooting deaths of two people.

The first calls came in around 11:30 p.m. for gunfire at a home along E. 28th St. between Perry St. and East Ave.

Police told Erie News Now they arrived to find two people with gunshot wounds.

The coroner said it is a a 45-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman. Their names have not yet been officially released.

Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook said he pronounced them both dead at the scene. Cook said it is an apparent murder-suicide with the man killing the woman before taking his own life.

Police said there was one other person at the home when the shooting happened.
