It's the end of an era, and a new beginning as the Quinn Funeral Home location at West 9th and Liberty St. was sold to a non-profit, Erie United Methodist Alliance (EUMA).
After merging with Burton Funeral Homes back in 20-18, the joint funeral services now had facilities only two blocks apart.
So, they decided to close their Quinn location, and sold their West 9th St. location to EUMA for administrative use.
The non-profit works to end homelessness for families with children, youth aging out of foster care, veterans, and singles. This building will be a huge help to their administrative staff.
"What is so great about this property is that is that it comes with three permanent housing units that we will be making sure remain affordable and permanent for our neighbors experiencing housing crisis or at risk of experiencing a housing crisis," said Kurt Crays, EUMA CEO.
Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services will continue to offer services to the community at their four remaining locations: downtown, West Ridge, Wintergreen, and Girard.
