ERIE, Pa. — Three people and several pets escaped an early morning apartment fire in Erie on Friday.
The fire was reported at around 4:50 a.m. at an apartment building in the 800 block of Parade St.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire showing from the first floor of the building.
Three people were trapped inside but managed to safely get out. Some suffered from smoke inhalation.
Several pets were also rescued.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
