Barber National Institute Moves Art Show, Sale Online Due to 'Credible Threats'

The Barber National Institute has postponed its Art Show & Sale due to what are believed to be credible threats made against the organization, according to an announcement late Thursday afternoon.

Thursday evening's donor debut and adult artist awards presentation, as well as the in-person show April 14-17, will not be held as planned at the Barber National Institute.

Instead, the show will be held online as planned. More than 440 pieces from adult and youth artists will be featured.

“We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution, and appreciate the support from the artists, donors and sponsors for this event,” said John Barber, president and chief executive officer at the Barber National Institute, in a statement.
