Third Person Charged in 2021 Erie Homicide

Police have charged a third person in the 2021 death of a woman on Erie's east side.

Javon Cason, 21, of Erie, faces charges including first-degree murder, conspiracy, firearms not to be carried without a license and tampering with evidence.

He was not in custody as of late Friday morning, records show.

The victim - Rhonda Glover, 33 - was shot in the head and neck while she was sitting in a vehicle in the 600 block of E. 13th St. between Reed and Ash on Nov. 17, 2021.

Police said the fatal shooting was linked to a domestic situation.

Darryl Gates and Cason left an east Erie residence before the shooting, and Atkinson drove them to E. 13th St., according to police. Gates then got out of a vehicle, fired the shots which fatally hit Glover and got back in the vehicle, which then took off, investigators said.

Cason, who Atkinson identified as her cousin, handed the gun to Gates, according to the criminal complaint.

Gates and Atkinson were charged with conspiracy to commit homicide.
