The NHL Central Scouting Service listed its final player rankings before the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Four Erie Otters were listed among the top North American prospects.
Forwards Carey Terrance and Ondrej Molnar along with defenseman Alexis Daviault and Spencer Sova made the final rankings.
Terrance was the highest-rated Otters player. He was ranked 38 on the final list of North American skaters. The second-year forward led Erie with 30 goals this past season. Terrance was the 10th overall pick by the Otters in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection Draft. Terrance is the highest-rated North American prospect for Erie since Jamie Drysdale was ranked 3 overall in 2020.
Molnar added four goals in 19 points in his first season with the Otters. He ranked 129 among North American skaters.
Alexis Daviault and Spencer Sova round out the Otters on the list, ranked 160 and 182, respectively. Daviault jumped up nine spots from the midterm rankings. He produced two goals and 15 points in 41 games in Erie. Sova led all Otters' defensemen with 16 goals and 39 points in 68 games. He ranked top 10 in goals among OHL defensemen and top 30 in total scoring. He was also voted as the top skater in the Western Conference in the coach's poll. Sova attended the Buffalo Bills preseason camp for the start of the 2022-23 season.
One Erie Otters import pick also made the final International Skater rankings. Defenseman Jiri Tichacek was the 139-ranked skater. The Otters selected Tichacek in the first round of the 2021 CHL Import Draft. He had six assists in 39 games for Rytiri Klando of Czechia.
