St. George's Roman Catholic Church on Peach Street is celebrating a big milestone on Saturday night, their 100th anniversary.
All year long, the church has celebrated their 100 years as a parish with a variety of events, from masses, to community dinners and a campaign to redo and update their roof. Tonight, they are wrapping up their year of celebrating their 100th anniversary with a dinner and banquet at the Ambassador and they are looking forward to the next 100 years.
Fr. Brian Vossler, the Pastor of St. George's Catholic Church said, "We're starting now the next 100 years and we're off to a good start. So we really we've celebrated a number of events. We started with the concert. Then we had the Bishop come for the mass and we had a reception. Then we had the upgrade of our parish picnic followed. With that, we resurrected our 40 hours with Father Ross Miceli and then now the gala, which will conclude our our year of celebration."
The dinner and celebration is happening Saturday night beginning at 5:30 at the Ambassador.
