EARLIER: Pennsylvania State Police are looking to identify the suspect in the theft of a statue of Mother Mary from St. Boniface Church.
It happened Saturday between 9:30 and 9:40 a.m. and was reported to investigators early Tuesday afternoon.
"We're all just kind of scratching our heads." said Father Marc Stockton, pastor of the church. "I discovered it on Monday morning when I came over to celebrate mass for Memorial Day."
Video surveillance shows a man entering the church through the main entrance while no one was there and leaving with the statue, according to state troopers.
The suspect was wearing a blue shirt, black pants, black shoes and eyeglasses at the time.
He reportedly left the scene in a yellow Honda Fit.
"I'm not quite sure what he was hoping to accomplish there, but we just want her back," Stockton said.
