Preparations Underway for 13th Annual Warren Gives Event
Warren Gives event set for May 14th, Warren PA
Preparations are underway at the Community Foundation of Warren County for this year’s Warren Gives, the annual 16-hour online donation event set for Wednesday, May 14th, starting at 6:00AM.
Now in its 13th year, Warren Gives allows donors to contribute to local nonprofits through a single online platform. This year’s event features 110 participating organizations — the most in the event’s history.
Organizers say the growth reflects how much the community believes in supporting local causes and are hopeful that it will translate into a strong donor showing this year.
“We have seen an incredible response from the community and country," stated Mark King, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Warren County. "Last year we had donors from all 50 states including the District of Columbia, and we are hoping to see that happen again this year."
Nonprofits across the region rely on Warren Gives to help fund programs and services that benefit local residents. Among them are the Jefferson DeFrees Family Center and Rouse Estate, both of which say the donations have a direct and meaningful impact.
“Warren Gives helps us keep programs running for local families,” said Melinda Johnson Jefferson DeFrees family Center's Executive Director. "The Jefferson DeFrees Family Center has been a part of the Warren Community for over 100 years, and we want to be here for the next 100."
“We are thankful to be a part of the Warren Gives event," stated Susan Teconchuk, Chief Executive Officer of The Rouse Estate. "And every little bit matters, we use every dollar as a non-profit organization in Warren to invest in what we do to support our residents."
Last year’s event raised over $900,000. Organizers hope to exceed that total this year, with 100% of donations staying in Warren County.
