Warren County’s First 18-Hole Disc Golf Course Planned for Hatch Run

Warren, PA - Warren County is getting ready to welcome a brand new outdoor attraction - it's first 18-hole disc golf course.

The project is a collaborative effort between the Lumber Heritage Region (LHR), Warren County Visitors Bureau (WCVB), and the Warren County Conservation District (WCCD).

The course will be built within the scenic Hatch Run Conservation Demonstration Area.

Known as a hub for outdoor recreation and ecotourism, Warren County has long drawn visitors for hiking, fishing, kayaking, and hunting. The addition of an 18-hole disc golf course is expected to further boost that reputation—while providing a new local outlet for one of the country’s fastest-growing sports.

“This will be a great economic asset as dedicated disc golfers travel far and wide to try new courses and will need a place to eat, sleep, and shop,” said Casey Ferry, Executive Director of the Warren County Visitors Bureau. “Every step of the process has been exciting.”

Until now, the nearest disc golf courses have been located in Corry and beyond. The new course at Hatch Run will be Warren County’s first—and the team behind the project has officially selected Grip It & Rip It Disc Golf as the course designer.

The Hatch Run property spans 350 acres and is managed by the WCCD for environmental education and outdoor use. The area features trails, wildlife habitats, and forested landscapes—making it an ideal location for a course that blends recreation with conservation education.

The course will be designed to fit seamlessly into the natural surroundings, preserving biodiversity while welcoming players of all skill levels.

The project was financed, in part, by a grant from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program, Heritage Areas Program, under the administration of the DCNR’s Bureau of Recreation and Conservation. No date has been set for groundbreaking, but organizers say interest from the public has already been strong, with many community members reaching out to express support and volunteer to help.

“Being able to create this project under three different non-profits who all have different missions but were able to align this with all of our goals - it is just perfect,” Ferry added. “There will be historical facts on the signage tying in the lumber heritage of this area, not to mention the Conservation District's mission, and then the Visitors Bureau's mission - it's really awesome."
