There’s almost nothing left of a house on West Lake Rd. in Fairview after a fire earlier this week.

The family that lived there is just days away from welcoming their third child.

“It’s never a good time to have a house fire, but for her to be due any day now, I couldn’t imagine the stress,” family friend Samantha Kammer said.

Kammer’s mom is their babysitter. They were figuring out how to help the family.

That’s when Kammer shared a post on Facebook asking for donations. It has been receiving a lot of attention.

“People [are] dropping off constantly, all throughout the day. I go after work and I pick things up,” she said.

She said people have been donating everything from clothes, to shoes, to toys.

Businesses have even stepped up to help. But more help is needed.

Kammer said they could use more clothes for the parents and more supplies for their expected baby.

Those supplies include bottles, bottle brushes, binkis, and burp rags.

They’re staying with family while they figure out their next steps. It’s been a lot to handle.

The hope is that the donations from strangers will make it easier for the family to get back on their feet.

“There [are] people out there that have good hearts, and they would want the help as well if it [were] them,” she said.

A GoFundMe has been set up for the family.

Donations can be given to Kammer or dropped off at Bargain Basement at 3735 West Lake Rd.
