The expERIEnce Children’s Museum is set to conclude its Playdate Playlist series, a summer lineup of playful, interactive performances for families. The final show will be held Wednesday, August 13 from 1 to 2 p.m., featuring Attention Switch, an all-kids band delivering high energy fun and proving that creativity and confidence know no age limits.
The series was made possible through the Clarence E. Beyers Music Performance Fund of the Erie Arts Endowment, administered by Erie Arts & Culture.
“Not only is it a nice way to get into music, rhythm is kind of one of the simplest ways to start playing music. It's a good way for connection and collaboration and social, emotional learning,” said Matt Price of Drum Nexus.
Throughout the summer, audiences enjoyed a range of performances, from classical strings to rock and interactive drumming, offering families a chance to explore sound, rhythm, and movement together.
Brooke Surgener, one of this year’s performers, said, “I know when I was a kid and I watched people perform or just do things that they’re really passionate about, it gave me courage, and just inspired me to do something outside of the box.”
The museum emphasizes that play is essential for children’s creativity, connection, and cognitive growth, turning learning and problem-solving into engaging experiences that support lifelong development.
