A $1.8 million resurfacing project will begin next week on nearly five miles of Route 6 in Freehold and Pittsfield Townships, Warren County, aiming to provide motorists with a smoother and safer drive.
The work will cover 4.74 miles of roadway, stretching from the intersection of Route 6 and Sears Hill Road in Freehold Township to the intersection of Route 6 and Nelson Hills Road in Pittsfield Township.
In addition to milling and paving, the project will include roadway base repairs, side road and driveway adjustments, shoulder backup, tree trimming, drainage improvements, guide rail upgrades, and refreshed roadway paint markings.
Construction is scheduled to start August 18, 2025, weather permitting, and is expected to wrap up by October. Drivers should expect traffic pattern changes, lane restrictions, and potential delays during active work hours.
The project will be completed by IA Construction of Franklin, Pa., with the $1,817,777.77 cost fully funded by the state.
