North East neighbors say they can breath a sigh of relief, at least for now, as a company planning 11 natural gas wells for the township will forego those plans for now.
Erie Energy Partners saying that plans to forbid hydrofracking, or the practice of cracking rock to allow gas to escape, will hamper other wells too badly.
One well has been drilled that will not use hydrofracking.
Neighbors say they won't rest because other companies could still come into the township. They fear that hydrofracking would risk water supplies and property values.
