Update: Fatal Accident Claims Young Life

An accident near Union City claimed the life of a young woman Thursday afternoon.
Our crews were at the scene shortly after it happened.
According to State Police in Corry, the victim was 18- year- old Rebecca Rose Seelinger of Bloomfield Township.
The Ford Focus she was driving crossed over the line on Route 8, and collided with a tanker truck.
The accident happened just South of Union City, shortly after noon.
52- year- old Anthony Jack Kunick was driving the truck, and he was not injured in the crash.
Seelinger was driving North, and the truck was traveling South, near the Union City Country Club.
The truck rolled after impact and came to rest on its side, and the car was sitting on the other side of the road basically torn in half.
A source from PennDOT at the scene said they believe the car may have run up under the truck, then spun around and hit the truck's back wheels, which ripped the car in half.
The Union City Volunteer Fire Department was at the site, and they'll continue to aid the investigation in whatever way they can.
"We're gonna let the PSP and the Coroner take over, this is their scene, we're here for support for them and they will continue their investigation," said Union City Fire Department 1st Lieutenant Bill Fink, Jr. "Whatever they need from support from us we'll give them."
The tanker truck usually carries propane, but it was empty at the time of the accident.
It's a tragic loss for the family and friends of the young woman.
