It was a double win for veteran Erie lawyer Joe Walsh. He won both party nominations in the race for Erie County Judge.

Walsh narrowly lost the Democratic nomination in 2013.

This time he did more door to door campaigning, and concentrated on areas he lost before. And he said his entire family worked even harder. Walsh said voters in both parties embraced his campaign.

He said, "I think people were able to identify with who I am as an individual, what my practice entailed. Obviously having the district attorney support  and endorsement was huge and the plebiscite results from my fellow bar members helped."

Walsh said even though he will be on both the democratic and republican ballots in November, he is not taking anything for granted.

And  He pledged to campaign hard in the fall.
