Bizzarro Wants Action After Poor Voter Turnout
Bizzarro held a news conference in Harrisburg today, urging the adoption of a bill he introduced earlier this year. Bizzarro says the bill would boost voter turnout by making registration easier.
Currently, potential voters must mail a form 30 days before the election. Bizzarro says that is old-fashioned.
"As legislators, I think we have a duty to increase civic participation and get more people to the polls. People deserve to have every opportunity that's available to them to go out and cast their ballot," he said.
12 states and the District of Columbia currently allow same-day registration.
