Local neighborhood watch leaders are now meeting with members of the community to discuss solutions to the increasing violence

It was standing room only at the Blasco Library Tuesday night, for a meeting hosted by the Erie Neighborhood Watch Council.

Many concerned citizens were very vocal about what should be done to reduce the violence in our area.

"I think that the youth need to be heard,” said Pastor Darren Peoples.  “I think that they need to have a voice. We're treating the problem without addressing the symptom."

Some of the suggestions brought up include an increase in police, additional surveillance cameras, and prevention through parenting.
