The latest social media sensation is a nun from the Erie Catholic Diocese.  Sister John Paul Bauer shot a 10-point buck early this week  A Facebook page with a photograph now has over a million views.

Sr. John Paul waited in her tree stand for three hours on Monday, the first day of deer season.  As she waited, she prayed the rosary. Shortly after, a herd of doe arrived, followed by two large bucks.  She shot the largest buck, a 10-point buck with a 16-inch spread.

Sr. John Paul is a teacher at Elk County Catholic High School in St. Mary's.  A photograph of her with her nun's habit and trophy deer was posted on the diocese's Facebook page.  It has over a million views, but Sr. John Paul is amazed on the attention she is getting.

"In St. Mary's, this is what you do.  You go hunting. Everybody goes hunting.  The coach, myself, the students," she said.

This is the third deer that Sr. John Paul has bagged in her hunting career.  She also brought home a bear during hunting season five years ago.
