Local Dog Fulfills Bucket List

Many pet owners include their animals in their holiday celebrations, but one local dog owner is dealing with a little bit harder time this holiday season.
Todd Burchanowski's dog, Reyes was diagnosed three weeks ago with terminal lymphoma. Due to the nature of this cancer, there is not much they can do to treat it. Reyes was given two weeks to four months to live. To help make Reyes' last few weeks a little bit easier, Burchanowski made her a bucket list.
Reyes has already accomplished quite a bit from that list. She ate at McDonalds, went to Niagara Falls, built a snowman, ran around on Jerry Uht Park and even got married.
The next item on the list was to take a ride on a fire truck ad with some help of the Waterford Fire Department, that item was checked off her list.
Burchanowski says the community has helped do some things that he never would have been possible.
"We went to Niagara falls, we left the country real briefly, we were able to go swimming... she has never been swimming. When she was first diagnosed I was heartbroken, I'm still heartbroken but this has allowed us to do some things that we never would have had an opportunity to do," Burchanowski said.
Reyes has checked off over 30 items on his list and still has a ways to go.
