Police: Cleveland Suspect Used Crowbar to Severely Beat Erie Woman

There are new developments, in the brutal attack and random home invasion in Erie Tuesday morning. We are learning the Cleveland man who police say broke into the Crescent street home, used a crowbar to get in.
Investigators say the female victim was attacked in her bedroom, and the suspect, 25-year-old Kyle Johnson hit her 4 to 6 times in the head with the crowbar.
Police say Johnson, then took a box cutter and stabbed the victim in the neck. Wednesday afternoon, she remained in grave condition.
Her husband was also attacked by Johnson with a crowbar. Neighbors heard their scuffle outside and came to help.
They tried to restrain Johnson, but he took off.
That's when one of the neighbors pulled out his gun and shot Johnson two times.
Erie police officers showed up at that time, and after a short foot chase, they took Johnson into custody.
Police have not released any names of the victims yet. But the female homeowner remains hospitalized in critical condition.
