The Erie County Coroner's Office has released the name of the woman with a wheelchair who was struck by a train and killed.

The victim is identified as 43-year-old Sabrina Kantarevic.

The deadly accident happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, on the railroad tracks near West 14th and Cascade Streets.

According to police, she was hit by a freight train over 65 cars long that was traveling 55 miles per hour.   Police say it was unable to stop until after the Greengarden Boulevard  crossing.

The deputy coroner says the woman suffered blunt force trauma to the head.  Investigators say both the engineer and conductor reported that the woman was out of her motorized wheelchair and lying on the tracks.

The investigation is ongoing.
