The owner of four dogs seized from a west Erie home, is officially facing charges of animal cruelty.

Today, the Humane Society of Northwestern PA filed four counts of cruelty to animals against 66-year-old Donald Vendetti.

On June 17, the animal shelter was called to his home on Cherry Street after receiving a complaint.  After obtaining a search warrant, the Humane Society recovered 11 dead dogs, and four live ones from Vendetti's home.

The director of the Humane Society says they can't file charges for the 11 other dogs, because they were too decomposed to determine how they died.
