The Millcreek man accused of killing his mother in 2014 has entered a plea that would keep the case from going to trial.

Michael Burrows, 22, pleaded guilty Friday to third-degree murder but mentally ill.

The judge will hold a hearing next week to review psychological evaluations before he accepts the plea.

Burrows lived with his mother in their Millcreek mobile home. He was arrested at the scene.

If the judge does accept the plea, sentencing will be set for December 16th.
