Bike Fest 2016: Raises More Than $50,000 For Local Charities
Harley Davidson of Erie made the last two check presentations from Bike Fest 2016 to the Humane Society of NWPA and the American Red Cross of Greater Erie County.
Co-owners of Harley Davidson of Erie, Kelly and Susan Lapping, were joined by the Glenwood Beer Distributors and the Erie Harley Owners Group (HOG) to distribute the checks to the American Red Cross of Greater Erie County and the Humane Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania.
"The HOG owners and the Harley Davidson shop do so much to make sure that its a great event for the community and so many charities benefit, and American Red Cross is so happy to be one of them," said Pam Maci, Executive Director of the American Red Cross.
"We tend to be an organization that they care very deeply about which I couldn't be more happy about. They're a great group and we truly appreciate all the support that they give us," said Nicole Bawol, Executive Director of the Humane Society of NWPA.
"If you could see the work that these groups to give back to our community and help us when we need help, it's the right thing to do and we're very happy that we are able to do that," said Susan Lapping.
The total amount raised for local non-profits came to $53,027, making it the largest motorcycle-related charity fundraising event in the community this year.
