Man Injured in Downtown Erie Shooting

A man is undergoing treatment at the hospital after a shooting in downtown Erie Wednesday evening.

It happened just after 5 p.m. in the 1700 block of State Street.

Witness tells Erie News Now the 25-year-old man was heading into a nearby barber shop when he was shot in a back parking lot.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen, according to reports from the scene.

The man was conscious and talking and was taken to UPMC Hamot by ambulance.

Police are not releasing any details on a possible suspect.
