The man who pleaded guilty to a New Year's Day 2016 beating death learned his punishment Monday.
A judge sentenced Carl Bell, 35, to spend 30 to 60 years in prison plus undergo a mental health and drug and alcohol evaluation and take anger management classes.
In January, Bell admitted guilt in the beating death of Charles Lesser at the Lin Lee Motel. Lesser, 53, died a month later from his injuries.
Bell also pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault for beating a second man that night, as well as beating his mother and pouring boiling water on her.
