Erie Otters & EYHA Form Junior Otters Program
As the Erie Otters prepare for another deep run in the OHL playoffs, today, the team announced a new partnership with the Erie Youth Hockey Association.
For the fourth year in a row, the Erie Otters are back in the playoffs, after finishing the regular season as the top team in the OHL.
As the team prepares to take on the Sarnia Sting, the team has announced a new partnership with the Erie Youth Hockey Association (EYHA).
The two organizations have teamed up to form the Junior Otters hockey program.
There will be two teams, which include a 12U team and a 14U team. Both teams are expected to play at the AA/AAA level.
Former Stanley Cup champion and Erie Otters alum Mike Rupp will coach the 14U team.
Under the partnership, the Erie Otters coaching staff and players will also participate in a number of on-ice functions with EYHA, including practices, coach clinics, skill sessions, and a yearly summer camp.
The 14U team will be holding tryouts on Sunday, March 26, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at JMC Ice Arena.
