While 19-year-old Jonathan Young is known in the Jamestown area as the winner of last year's Chautauqua's Got Talent, he's been unknown to Jamestown police, until now.

"I can tell you that I don't know much about him, said Jamestown Police Chief Harry Snellings.  He's a young man from our communitynever has been an issue that I'm aware of until these arsons."

Young is charged with 12 arson fires throughout the Jamestown, NY area.

Gerald Mortimer lives next to an apartment on East 6th Street that was set on fire three times.

"I hope it gets dropped pretty soon, said Mortimer.  If they leave it up, it's just going to get someone back in there again, set it on fire."

Most of the buildings that were targeted were vacant, but two of them were occupied, including an apartment complex off West Main Street in Falconer, which was destroyed by fire on March 22.

Demolition crews were at the scene on Thursday, tearing down what's left of the building.

Police say Young acted alone.  They have not said his motive.

Young was arrested in Butler County, Pennsylvania, on a separate arson and burglary case.

He is currently awaiting extradition.
