The man who put together Erie's comprehensive plan, Charles Buki is now saying to press pause on the demolition of the Mcbride Viaduct.

The Virginia based consultant, said delaying the demolition of the viaduct, would be consistent with the comprehensive plan. Buki says that transparency is key when making large decisions that impact the community. Buki says, if they have a public meeting and still choose to demolish it, at least they had the conversation.

Erie CPR, a group dedicated to saving the bridge said they haven't had a public meeting on the matter in years. The group has actually threatened to file a lawsuit in order to delay the demolition.
Erie News Now reached out to PennDOT on the project, they say the demolition plan is still on for the spring.
