Pennsylvania's Auditor General says the cycle of abuse needs broken, right now. He wants immediate action to better protect children at risk of abuse, and neglect.

Wednesday, Auditor General Eugene DePasquale highlighted an action plan in Harrisburg. The "State of the Child" action plan details 28 recommendations for change to immediately give Children and Youth Caseworkers the time and resources they desperately need to help at-risk children.

The action plan is a follow-up to DePasquale's report, released in 2017, finding that the state's child welfare system is broken.

He says, "Part of work here today, after the state of the child, is again, traveling all over the state. Meeting the caseworkers, talking to people that were living in many cases, the nightmare, and how we can actually better protect our children."
