Suspect Charged with Cutting Woman's Throat Outside Erie Walgreens Store
The man charged with slashing a woman's throat outside of a local pharmacy, has officially been charged.
Steveland Robinson, 30, was arraigned Wednesday morning, on charges of aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of a crime, simple assault, disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment.
The violent incident happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday outside the Walgreens at West 38th and Peach Streets.
Police say Robinson was asking people for money outside the drug-store.
When a 21-year old woman refused to give him money, investigators say Robinson cut her throat with a box cutter.
The victim was rushed to UPMC Hamot, where she underwent emergency surgery. Police aren't releasing the victim's name.
No word on her condition at this time.
Police arrested a Robinson shortly after it happened.
