There are three different hospital projects underway at the same time within St. Vincent and Allegheny Health Network, including the Cancer Center in Erie.

Monday, the raising of the final beam took place at the Health and Wellness Pavilion, and with that, came the signing of the beam, where community leaders, construction workers and hospital staff celebrated the "topping off." Construction for the 30,000 square foot pavilion started in March. It's located on Buffalo Road in Harborcreek Township. Hospital leaders say it's a growing area and a facility with clinical services like this one, will be more convenient for people in the East, instead of going into downtown Erie.

President of St. Vincent Hospital, Chris Clark, says, "Our health and wellness concept is all about bringing care closer to where are patients are."

State of the art CAT-Scan technology, 3D Mammography and other services will also be offered, along with primary care, specialty care for cardiology, orthopedics, dermatology, podiatry, urgent care, lab services, and rehabilitation.

The health and wellness pavilion East Side will be Allegheny Health Networks fifth such facility. Others include one in West Erie, and three in the Pittsburgh area.
