United States Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is planning a visit to the Erie School District on Monday, according to district spokeswoman Daria Devlin.

The trip was confirmed by U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly's Erie office spokesperson, Tim Butler, Thursday afternoon.

Administration officials are expected to visit Erie on Friday to determine a final location for DeVos's visit, where she is expected to meet with students. The visit is scheduled to last 90 minutes and she is expected to meet with district administrators. DeVos is interested in the districts "assets," Devlin said, but it's unclear what topics will be discussed.

DeVos and her team reached out to Kelly's office this week, Butler said.

The visit is tentatively scheduled for Monday afternoon.

Just this Monday, DeVos visited a school in Northwest Ohio, according to the Toledo Blade.
