Dozens of children helped mark National Summer Learning Day in Downtown Erie with an event held along Perry Square.

It's a day set aside to help students retain grade level reading and math skills during the summer, as well as science and other STEM skills learned during the school year.

The Erie County Public Library and Erie Insurance helped host activities for the event, ranging from a station where students could meet a local author, some science activities, singing, and working with parachutes.
