Summer Fun Fridays July 13th edition: Greek Festival, Bikefest, Slobberfest and Good Vibes Beerfest
Get yourselves, and your bellies ready for all the Greek fries, gyros and baklava you can eat this weekend. It’s that time of year again, the Greek Festival is back.
The 30th Annual Greek Festival begins today at 2:30 p.m. at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the church. Each year it draws in large crowds eager to taste all the authentic Greek cuisine.
Besides the food, there will be live entertainment and various dancing groups. The festival goes through Sunday.
Also this weekend, if you don’t want to wait until later next week to get your bikes rolling out in the streets for Roar on the Shore, you can head to the 6th Annual Harley-Davidson of Erie’s Bikefest. The event starts Saturday and runs through July 21st.
Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over will gather at the Harley-Davidson dealership on West 12th street.
There will be live music, contests, and charity rides. Otis Bar and Gril will provide the food and beer.
Those obsessed with craft beer can check out Saturdays first Good Vibes Beer Fest in Meadville.
The event was years in the making because breweries from around the world will be there, including from the United Kingdom and Sweden.
It’s from noon to 3 pm at Voodoo’s production facility, The Compound, located at 834 Bessemer Street.
Good Vibes Beer Fest features 32 craft breweries, music and food.
There’s only 1,000 tickets available for this event, each tickets costs $125. A portion of the proceeds will go towards Humane Animal Rescue based in Pittsburgh.
Now to an event for your furry little friends, Slobberfest is this weekend. It’s organized by Droopy Basset Hound Rescue and is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 15581 Stewart Hill Road in Union City.
There will be dog games, raffles, food and more. If you bring your dog, organizers said make sure to put him or her on a leash and that they’re up to date on all their shots.
