No injuries have been reported after a plane crashed in Cochranton Saturday afternoon.

State Police from Meadville along with area fire departments responded to a single-engine plane crash along State Highway 285 at 1:30 pm.

After a brief search of the wreckage, three occupants were located, according to a news release from State Police. All three escaped injury and refused medical treatment.

The pilot told State Police the engine failed and he was able to land the aircraft in a grass field several hundred yards off State Highway 285.

State Police contacted the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, who will now take over the investigation.
