Construction is now nearing completion on the new $8 million Velocity Net project in downtown Erie.

The company is transforming the old Rothrock building into its new corporate headquarters.

The project is about 70% complete, with crews now finishing up dry wall, painting, and installing flooring.

Much of the structural work is already done.

The  new building will have an open design to encourage collaboration.

And it will give employees a lot more room.

Director of Business Development Matt Wiertel said, "This building is four times the space of our existing building so we are not on top of each other in terms of where we physically sit."

Employees will move into the new complex in phases, starting in early October.

Managers expect all workers will be in the new building by mid-November.
