Over 60 athletes at McDowell High School held their annual blanket making event tonight in support of Project Linus.

Project Linus is a volunteer non-profit organization, started in 1998.  It provides handmade security blankets for children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or in need.

Members of McDowell's Freshmen, JV, Varsity, and Competitive Cheerleading teams handcrafted over 60 blankets to be distributed to babies and children in the Northwestern Pennsylvania area who are dealing with a hospital stay due to illness, surgery, or tragedy.   The security blankets help provide some love and comfort during a difficult time.
