PennDOT is set to display their potential plans to help improve the Bayfront Parkway, specifically at the State Street intersection. Once again, they are asking for the public’s feedback to help them decide which would be best for the busy corridor.

Currently that the intersection sits with a single traffic light and one turning lane in each direction. However, they are looking at making some serious improvements by potentially lowering the Bayfront beneath State Street.

On some of the plans there would be on and off ramps to help keep the Bayfront traffic flowing while allowing pedestrians a much safer opportunity to walk to and from lower state street.

This sunken parkway is just one of the plans, there will be numerous option on display for people to look at and weigh in. Erie News Now is told some options even float the possibility of adding a large roundabout.
