The Erie Police Department has released the results of its day and night seat belt enforcement as part of the the nationwide Thanksgiving Click it or Ticket initiative.

Officers made contact with 121 vehicles and issued 64 citations as part of the enforcement from Monday, Nov. 19 through Sunday, Dec. 2.

The citations included 12 adult seat belt violations and eight for driving on a suspended license.

Two did not carry the required insurance, two did not obey traffic lights or signs, and one was caught speeding.

Two felony arrests and six other arrests were also made.

31 other citations were also issued.

Erie Police joined 250 other law enforcement agencies across the state to enforce seat belt use. The goal was to reduce the number of injuries and deaths from people not using seat belts.
