Harborcreek Township Supervisors have approved the transfer of a liquor license, so the Quaker Steak and Lube planned for the TravelCenters of America (T/A) can serve beer, wine and liquor.

It was passed unanimously 3-0 Wednesday morning.

T/A will renovate its restaurant at the Harborcreek location and turn it into a Quaker Steak and Lube. No date has been set for its opening.

It successfully bid for an expired restaurant liquor license, which the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board auctioned off in late October.

The truck stop company acquired Quaker Steak and Lube in 2015 after the restaurant chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Scott Enterprises already operates a Quaker Steak and Lube franchise on Peach St. in Summit Township.
