Erie Police have a suspect in custody after a robbery at a west side drug store Monday night.

It happened shortly before 9 p.m. at the Rite Aid at West 18th and Liberty streets.

Police say a 17-year-old came in and opened a pack of gum. When the clerk told him he would have to pay for it, the teen reportedly jumped the counter, pushed the clerk over and took some more gum and an e-cigarette.

Police caught him a short time later.

He was taken to the Edmund L. Thomas Adolescent Center.
