Giant Eagle is voluntarily recalling red and green leaf lettuce sold in western Pennsylvania from Dec. 3 - 14.

The grocery store chain made the decision after being notified by their supply partner Adam Bros. Farming, Inc. about potential E. coli contamination. It's the same supplier linked to the recent outbreak that affected romaine lettuce.

Out of an abundance of caution, Giant Eagle promptly removed the products from its produce department.

The green leaf lettuce is identified on the package with PLU 4076. The red leaf lettuce is marked with PLU 4075.

If you have it, dispose of it or return it to Giant Eagle or Market District with a receipt for a refund.

E. coli is a bacteria may cause diarrhea or bloody stools. Some people can develop a dangerous form of kidney failure.
